About SoSly

    .

I met my mentor Jackie Dew of Dewcastle Cockers when my groomers were moving out of town.  They recommended me
to her for grooming, and she introduced me to the wonderful world of dog shows (thanks Jackie ;-) ) The first fun match I
attended had me hooked.  She put in a word for me with a highly respected parti-color breeder and I bought my first
show dog in 1988.  Unfortunately, Munchie did not like to show and developed a few not so show  quality features, but
Munchies  breeder was kind enough to replace him for me and that's how  I came to own

Marshall turned out to be a spectacular show dog.  He produced three champions for me:  Tag, Maizy, and Austin  and
    five others were pointed.

My first really successful show litter was by Champion Tu-Su’s Reg Strikes Back x SoSly’s Dallas Has Dots.  Out of four
puppies, this breeding produced two finished bitches and another major pointed:  Champion SoSly's Partly Painted,
Champion SoSly's Painted Perfection and SoSly's Patent Pending, pictured below, respectively.

Two of my cockers have obtained CD’s and I put one on my great dane too.
I've recently started competing in Rally obedience and two of my five dogs have completed their RN and one has two legs

All of my pups are raised in our house.  They are given a ton of socialization, house training, and grooming experience
before they go to new homes.  No kennel dogs here, everyone is free to go in and out the dog door to the yard, even
the show dogs.  It makes for a little more work come grooming time but as you can see from the photos throughout the
    site it CAN be done.

I

I OFA and CERF all my dogs before breeding.  I've recently started doing patella's as well. I mainly breed to get show
dogs for myself, and sell the rest as pets whether they are show quality or not.  I'm not interested in being the top
breeder of champion show dogs, just producing happy healthy puppies, that make excellent companion dogs.

On a personal note I am married to a wonderful man who took on this crazy hobby of mine when we met.  I knew I had a
keeper when the first day we met he asked how many dogs I had, and instead of the usual bug eyed response, he asked
me what kind of food I fed them.  Yep, he's definitely a keeper.  We  have three beautiful children, Amanda, David, and
Reagan.  You can see pictures of them on our family page.  I worked for sixteen years as a vet tech, and now own a
grooming business that Mike and I run together.

When I was eighteen I started working for a veterinarian.  It was there I
saw my first parti-color cocker.  She was red and white and gorgeous.
I told her owner if she knew of anyone who had a litter I would love to
have a pup.  What she found me was a one and a half year old red
and   white female.  I drove three hours to see this girl who sat under the
tablein her owners entryway and growled at me.  “I’ll take her”, I
exclaimed! Chelsea ended up being the light of my life.  I have never
loved another dog as much since.  We bonded the second she got in my
truck, and she never left my side after that
